How it's planned to work
The basics are decided. Details may still change during the beta, before the first stalls open to everyone.
List
Set your price in sats, add photos, and describe the item honestly.
Pay
The buyer pays the sats price with a Lightning invoice, or on-chain for larger orders.
Deliver
Ship it, hand it over in person, or deliver the service.
Confirm
Both sides confirm the trade. If something goes wrong, a sat-market team member mediates during the beta.

Reading a sats price
A satoshi — "sat" — is one hundred-millionth of a bitcoin. Pricing in sats turns long decimals into ordinary whole numbers.
- Easier to read. 21,000 sats is clearer than 0.00021 BTC.
- What you pay is what you see. No conversion from another currency at checkout.
- One thing to remember: a sat's value in your local currency changes over time, so sellers may want to review their prices now and then.

Questions
Is sat-market open?
Not yet. A private beta in Oregon and Washington is planned for spring 2027, and waitlist members hear first.
Why sats instead of dollars or euros?
So the price you see is the price you pay, in the unit you pay with — no exchange rate on the tag.
Can I sell anything?
No. Illegal, dangerous, and counterfeit items won't be allowed. The full list of prohibited items will be published before launch.
